"hey remember that time?"

I posted a few days ago about Lisa of A Bird in Hand organizing a fundraiser in benefit of the late James Kim's family. I contacted her and will be donating two tote bags for the auction! This is the first time I've ever offered any of my work for sale, even though its for a fundraiser auction, so I'm a little nervous. :) But I'm very glad to be able to contribute to such a worthy cause and help this family out in my own small way. I'm in the process of making two bag designs; a cardinal bag (I changed the dimenions and design a bit from the one I showed you the other day) and a squirrel design. Both are just awaiting lining and handles and they'll be done. I had a lot of fun making these; I forgot how much I enjoy embroidery and applique.

...I'm also working on a ladybird bag for myself. :) A little sneak peek at that:

I'll be sure to keep you all posted as more details are relased about the Kim Fundraiser; Lisa should be letting us know in the next few days. Lots of work to do in the next week: these bags and finals all coincide!!

I've been listening to a lot of Regina Spektor's music lately. My music-junkie friend A. (he's so chock full of information about music and bands and even played in a band for awhile...) was talking to me about her music a few weeks ago, and I remembered having listened to some of it over the summer after I saw an ad for her newest cd in Nylon. But it didn't register then. ;) I'm loving what I'm hearing now; its definately not like anything I usually listen to, but I love how she sings about either everyday things or nonsensical ones. Its so quaint and yet not. :) I'll leave you to a link to the music video for "Fidelity", which I think is one of the most beautifully stylized videos I've ever seen (not to mention I want her clothes in this...). Enjoy. :)
